Windows Server/Standalone and Sun Unix Update Instructions

Snap-on Business Solutions Update Document

This update document requires Microsoft Word Viewer. This document contains instructions for running an update on three different system configurations. Below is a description of each type of configuration. You only need to follow the instructions in the section that pertains to your system configuration. If you are usure of what type of system you have, please contact us.

Explanation of System Types

Windows Network/Server
A Windows Network or Windows Server is a Windows 2000 or 2003 Server configured with multiple clients. The clients access the EPC over the network. The update is performed only on the Windows Server.

Windows Standalone
A standalone system is a Windows 98/2000/XP PC running the Snap-on EPC. The software (CD or DVD) is loaded directly on the PC and it does not access the EPC over the network.

Sun Unix
Similar to a Windows Network system, the Sun Unix system is a server based configuration using a Sun Server. Multiple clients can access the Snap-on EPC over the network. The update is performed on the Sun Server.
